Born in 1967 in Alicante, Spain, Marie Bovo lives and works in Marseille. Marie Bovo has had solo exhibitions at the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, at the Chambre - Espace d'exposition et de formation à l'image, at the Fondation Fernet-Branca, at the California Museum of Photography, at the FRAC Paca, at the Institut Français de Madrid, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, Luìs Serpa Projectos, Lisbon, Collections de Saint-Cyprien, Ateliers de la Ville de Marseille, Mac de Marseille, Fondation ERA in Moscow, Porte Avion in Marseille and Galerie Roger Pailhas. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Milan Triennial, MAS - Metropolitan Art Society in Beirut, Museo Riso, Pavillon de l'Arsenal, Institut Culturel Bernard Magrez, Hôtel Labottière, Bordeaux, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Maxxi in Rome, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, MAC Musée d'Art Contemporain, Marseille and at the Busan Biennale, Korea. In 2016 she was nominated for the ICP Inifinity Awards in New York, for her exhibition "La danse de l'ours" at FRAC Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur.
